Back to School Checklist

As parents and kids start their back-to-school shopping, our school librarians are busy getting their libraries ready for the influx of kiddos and the start of a shiny new school year! If you are new to being a school librarian and/or would like some help organizing the chaos of the start of a new school year in the library, please enjoy this article from the webpage “Elementary Librarian” that is full of tips and tricks to get your year off on the right foot.

Continuing Education

Did you know that there are multiple ways for you to get your continuing education credits? Continuing education is any educational activity that enriches your knowledge of library and library service. What counts? Webinars, Workshops, Zoom Trainings, In-Person Trainings, ScreenConnect Trainings, Trainings Over the Phone, Director’s Forums, reading a book from our Professional Collection, etc.! If you ever have a question about whether or not an acitivity or training will count towards your CE credits, just give me a call and I’ll be happy to discuss it with you! 🙂

One thing to remember, though: we’re not psychic, so we don’t know that you completed a training or other CE activity if you don’t tell us! If you want to report continuing education that you completed, just send me an email with your name, the training, and the date and time so that I have written documentation and that’s all you need to do! 🙂
